Uh…this is a serious issue for a lot of kids. Especially African-American kids, since 1 in 3 black men will be incarcerated in his lifetime. I’m really happy that this is foreign enough to you to be funny - I was lucky not to grow up with this situation either - but for plenty of kids and parents in this country it isn’t. And it’s a good thing that this book exists to help those families - not something to be mocked.
It’s not foreign to me. I’ve had friends who’ve had to deal with this and it can be devastating. My first thought when I saw this was, “It’s a shame that this is necessary. I’m glad someone had the balls to write it.”
But, I mock everything. Everything.
It’s my coping mechanism.

California men arrested in alleged terror plot
Four Southern California men have been charged with plotting to kill Americans overseas and in the United States by joining al-Qaida and the Taliban in Afghanistan, federal officials said Monday.
The defendants were arrested for plotting to bomb government facilities and public places after federal authorities uncovered their plans to engage in “violent jihad,” FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said.
